Invisible Deconstruction
Invisible Deconstruction installation reproduced the psychological affects that the news media has on our perceptions and understanding of the world at large. A total of three hours of new footage was recorded from various television channels and programs. A group of seven people of ages ranging from 24- 89 years old were then asked to watch this footage and interviewed about their opinons and understanding of this same news footage.
In the installation space, during the course of the video the audio from the news that was watched seeps in and out until creating a cacophony sound drowning out the voices of the interviewer’s answers and opinions. This video installation is accompanied by a wall drawing and text posters furthering the complications of authenticity and conditioning that the new media presents.
